Check your email daily
Check your UCSC email account daily for changes or EAP updates. Important pre-departure information, sometimes with attached documents, will be sent to your UCSC email address from UCSC Programs Abroad, the UCEAP Systemwide Office, and possibly from your host institution abroad. It is your responsibility to check your email daily, to follow instructions, and meet all deadlines. Check your junk mail and reconfigure your filters! Keep all EAP-related emails in an email folder labeled EAP.
EAP Next Steps
Once you have been notified via email of your selection to EAP, follow the Next Steps outlined in the official acceptance letter attached to the email. Keep the letter in your EAP email folder for reference.
Welcome to EAP Video
This mandatory video covers important information on your responsibilities as a selected student. If you have been officially selected for participation in an EAP program, then this video is for you.
EAP Pre-Departure Orientation
This mandatory orientation is an opportunity to meet fellow UCSC EAP participants and past participants as well as make sure you are on track with your pre-departure responsibilities. EAP participants studying abroad during Summer 2014, Fall 2014 or the 2014-15 academic year will attend orientation on May 17th, 2014. If you are a selected student, you will receive an email with location, time and additional details in late April, 2014.
Think about Finances
If you still have questions about how much financial aid you will receive when you go on EAP, and how much money you will have to save up, check out Financing Study Abroad
Think about Housing
Need to sublet while you're abroad? Want to find on- or off-campus housing after your return from EAP? Check out the California Housing Bulletin, or UCSC Housing. Students interested in finding their own accommodations in the off-campus community are encouraged to use the resources available through the UCSC Community Rentals Office. Community Rentals maintains online rental listings and serves as an information and advising resource. Download applications for UCSC housing. If you are interested, or want to learn more, contact a housing coordinator.
